What happens if I call 911 and there is a busy signal?
  • Please hang up and try to call 911 again
  • If you still get a busy signal, call the 24-hour number for State Radio Communications:  1-800-472-2121
  • Be prepared to give the 911 dispatcher your physical address or GPS latitude/longitude coordinates if you are calling from a remote location

This situation is highly unlikely, but 911 outages do occur.  The enhanced 911 network in North Dakota has several back-up systems to ensure that 911 calls are answered.
